I'm sure its been asked again and again but here goes. 12 years driving. No moving violations ,tanker, doubles, no haz mat but I can get it again if need be. No dwis and clean criminal record. No oilfield experence but i am a quick learner and very mechanicly inclined. I was looking at jobs in northern Colorado in the oilfields and wondering about pay. I know a lot of these company's like to shine light up your hind end and promise the world but realisticly what could I make a week/year? Also sand, water, oil what should I go into? I was looking at ND and TX but CO seems to be the cheapest to live. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Oklahomas cheaper and better. year 3, no chains, ahhhhhhhhh. I live in the panhandle and its pretty cheap. Tons of work, even for newbies. Good money, good people and lots of good dry weather to haul in. Remember, the crappy weather slows ya down as you dont make as much if you are % paid. My maint costs are waaaay down since theres no salt to #&$% everything up. I ran the Rocky Mtns and Canada until 2010, Id never go back other than to visit. Most of our guys average 200 to 250 in water 300 a day in crude. Not too bad when an RV spot w utilites is 2-400 a month including truck parking. I found a spot for 150 plus electricity.

northeastern colorado, flat land, some mud... lots of work. crude haulers are in the $350 a day range, with the 4 axle trailers, 5 day work weeks. Greeley north are the oil fields, all the way to Cheyenne wyoming... many trucks start and end their day in cheyenne. Other begin and end windsor co. NO mountains for that area. Living cost is up, but nothing like other areas.

I have worked in greeley last year and I'm starting again next week. You can haul water starting at $20 an hour. Full good benefits 70 hours a week. Ot after 40. This time around will drive dump truck. Same pay etc... you can at least expect 70 k to 80K a year starting out.

Also you don't need hazmat. It could help. But not needed for any of those companies. They just want clean mvr and no drug history.

My dad works night shift out of Greeley hauling crude oil and ranges $450-$550 a night. With his safety bonuses he will earn easily $100k a year. He is a company driver with a large company and has good insurance/benefits. Gotta know where to look.

Hey thanks for the reply. That sounds about like what I'm looking for. I was looking today at some places to rent to park my 5th wheel and it seems real reasonable out there comlaired to ND.
