Hi all was just wondering if anyone has ever heard anything about this company? (Six Pioneers-hauling water)
I have been in Fargo for about a month doing construction and just finished the season when I got a call from these companies
1)Six Pioneers- $25/hr 1099 $200 for rent
2)Nuverra/Power fuels- $100,000.00/yr after taxes (what I was told) will train me-free housing
3) Two other companies want to wait till my background/driving checks get back first then we'll talk
I guess this below zero weather and high wind is really sending everyone home fast and opening up a lot of positions....
Thanks all!!!! Jaxx

Six Pioneers sounds fishy- 1099 status is a huge red flag, and $25/hour doesn't even begin to make up for it, especially at tax time. I'd cross that one off if I were you.
Nuverra/PF on the other hand, has quite a few happy drivers, and a few not-so-happy ones, but there are a bunch of threads on the board. Might be worth considering.Jaxx34 Thanks this. -
You'll hate yourself come tax time if you 1099 it. Get a company that pays W-2 wages and has benefits.

1099 wages means you pay 15% for your social security tax plus your federal and state income tax,,if you get hurt on the job 1099 means no workmans comp ins,,working as a 1099 employee you are working for fly by night companies,,,Not a good way to work

$100,000 AFTER TAXES? Nope. Not free housing either.

O.K. thanks all,Nuverra called back (missed the call) and I haven't heard back from the other companies yet.

I got the call this afternoon and we talked, they said I just didn't have enough experience for them,so they gave me a lost of companies to talk to. After I get 6 months they'd be happy to hire me.
They are looking for at least a year driving.
