Hello all. Well I took the plunge and left for ND. I spent a total of 3 months up there and the first month and a half was great..... making the money they said you would and then last month and a half, what a joke. The sand company I worked for (no im not going to bash them just yet waiting for some info and I will release the name once everything is final so no one else gets screwed ) was giving loads to contractors and not company drivers. They had us in the yard "blowing off" bottom hoppers or rail cars. The night dispatcher was holding loads for the day shift, sending us home early which finally he was relieved of his duties after much complaining, the day dispatcher sending out dayshift a hr before we came in... The equipment was garbage, we usually had half of our trucks running at one time, and the list goes on and on.

So now I am looking to get on with another company, or get some leads where other people have worked in TX, OK, or PA. North Dakota put a bad taste in my mouth. I have 12 years driving experience, and have had my X endorsement since Aug.

So if you have any recommendations please let me know. I do not want to move to another state again and get screwed. Yes I did my research on the company, but I found nothing. If you have any questions about ND feel free to hit me up I will answer all questions to the best of my ability. Thanks for your time.

Don't overlook eastern WY, and northeastern Colorado. Just as much drilling in those areas as North Dakota.

if you want to still haul sand check out resources there main yard is in tx but they have yards all over. Currently my dads hauling sand for them out of the wysox, pa yard. 20.75 for days 21.75 for nights. Hes been averaging 400$ a day. Management is real relaxed, there not ########, they treat you good, if you wanna run 7 days a week go for it, just dont lie too bad on your logs lol. Cool thing there is they give you loose leaf paper logs,,,so yeah you get the idea lol. Decent equipment, 2011 and newer western stars, dd15 with 10sp semi-auto shift, most have less than 200k on em, the truck my dads assigned to only has 110k

Your first mistake was doing frac sand.
you want good money consistently, a set schedule,
And time off to have a life. Do oil or water.

when the fracking is done and thier sitting
home broke. They will still be moving the
    oil and water.

    peterbilt_2005 and rabbiporkchop Thank this.

    Thanks for the replies.

Brett- i worked for resource in ND, what a joke of a place. We only had 7 drivers 4 days 3 nights. Had 8 tractors and for over a month we were running 4 of them because they had no mechanic and they sat in the yard broke.... TX and PA might be different stories but I recommend DO NOT work in ND for that company.

Western- I was waiting for my hazmat to come back from the TSA so that is why I took the job to get experience. I am now looking in TX and OK for jobs. Had a few call backs, but they were on the lower paying side of the business.

I don't think you need a hazmat for water and Western is right, water and oil are always moving frac or no frac at every well site on earth.

Fresh water does not need hazmat, production water does, as it has some oil.
