I just recently moved down to Texas to try out driving in the oilfield. I went with a big company that had housing available at a small cost. So far I have done some service work,(boring). I have picked up loads of fresh water and driven them to a frac tank. And the usual, picked up loads of production water and taken them to a disposal site. The trucks are macks and are kind of dirty inside and out. But that stands to reason because you are driving on a lot of dirt roads. It is not as though these trucks do 500 miles a day on the highways.

Yes I am in Stockdale. the job is actually quite easy you just have to pay attention. The cabins that I am staying in are the Stockdale Lodges. They are clean and well maintained. My only problem is that Stevens told me that it was a 2 bedroom cabin. Actually it is a one bedroom with a loft as well. So the person in the loft really has no way to escape from the sounds of the roommate. If you are working opposite schedules then it might be ok. I would actually prefer to have it being 2 bedrooms, each with a door. Also the loft does not have a closet.

I drive for Stevens. Just passed 90 days solo. I want to eventually get in to the tanker division.
What is the pay rate and hours like? Thanks a lot for the info.
