I've been reading lots of posts on companies in south texas. Most of that info is years old. Could anyone please help me out with some info on good companies to apply to? I have about six months experience two of them hauling water in North Dakota. Thanks in advance.

I was down there a couple of years ago. Too many companies to choose from. Most are day jobs. Two shifts. Some have bunk houses others don't. Generally the new leases are easy end and out. Some have computer controlled loading. You still have to thief the tanks and gauge them.Standard 4 tank setup. 3 crude and one water. Some can be bigger than that. Where you unload will be determined by the gravity of the crude. So it might be one place close on one load and a long way away for the second load. The only major truck stop (might have added one don't know) is Love's at Three Rivers. About half way between Antonio and Christy. If your parking there you need to be in by 4 pm or sooner cause its always full. Several over the road companies would use it for staging. So you have trucks sitting there for a couple of days or so. If your unlucky you have to wait hour or so or longer for a shower. I was there for so long the McD's inside would just give me free coffee with my refill cup anytime of day or night. They had the fuel desk person doing the fuel desk and clean showers at the same time at certain times of the day. Be prepared to pass trucks coming at you with one side of the truck off the pavement. FM roads are narrow. And its extremely hot and dusty in the Summer. Hell most of the year. Nothing better than full FDR's when its above 100. If your not used to it coming down in the middle of summer your just going to die. That being said I still hear its better than the Dakotas. Try Oklahoma first, things are better up there, with more parking. However most of it is going to be dirt roads to the leases. The below signature is taken outside of Kenedy TX at a lease.

Dupre, Dillon, Gazelle, Firebird, Plains Marketing, Sunline, SunCoast Resources...that should keep you busy.
