Okay, i have my cdl hazmat/tanker x endorsement, and currently working in wy for baker Hughes. I want to drive more and and make more money. Worked in the oilfields yrs ago and pulled tankers delivering gas yrs ago. Advice, hookups in ND? Okay,,,go!

MBI or Power Fuels have housing at a cost but they have housing. Not too many other companys do.

Then there are companies that allow you to use the sleeper for "housing." All depends on what you want...

Great info. Do you have a list of Texas oilfield companies that provide sleeper for housing?

Nope, and I wouldn't have a list of North Dakota's either, except that my husband has been mentioning the ones that he's seen that run this way. I'm sure there's more, too, I just don't know of them yet.

I wouldn't say all of those companies are on the top of most ND workers lists. It all depends on what you are looking for. If sleeping in a truck is a top item for your wish list call those guys. I'd call power fuels, MBI, Plains, Falco, Black Hills, Sem Crude, Basin, EnerMAX, Red River, Key, before I'd call any of the above listed companies. No offense itsmefred, just stating my opinion.

The issue was housing (and the lack of) and I was just pointing out some other options.

Besides some of those companies are building a pretty good reputation these days as they get time and experience in the field (and are even taking in drivers from the big boys, like PowerFuels, when they're sick of being just a number)

Looking for peeps opinions. I feel pretty lucky and happy right now because I have 0 experience and just landed a driver position yesterday for construction / frac sand. (Start Tues.) There's a job fair tomorrow for tanker peeps, all CDL-A welcome, hiring on the spot, exp. water haulers preferred.

Should I call it good and be content? Should I go down there and just check it out? (I guess the 3-hr drive, possibility of not working for the day, gas [no $$$], and having a CDL job kinda have taken the excitement out of going.)

But tankers have to go to the well site more often yes? You only have to put sand into the ground. Water goes into and then comes out. A lot more water has to go in than sand... I don't know if this translates into more drive time or just more drivers. The big bonus is tanker experience so I could get a position to haul crude easier.

I guess the unknown is also keeping me back... but I'd get the info once I head down there. ($22.50 + OT vs. ???? FREE Housing vs. ??????) Think my employer having only invested HR time to set me up in their system and a pre-employment drug test would be too upset?

For anyone interested in living in the truck while you work Fox Run has the nicest trucks that i have seen. Nicer than Deer Valley and newer. Don't think you would want to haul water and live in the truck tho. It's either muddy or dusty outside and it'll get into the truck and into your bedding since you are in and out of the truck alot.

It all depends on who you are working for. $22.50 plus OT for a company that isn't busy or established = no good. There aren't many companies that are construction and frac sand haulers. I've heard of sand and water but not construction and sand. Who is the offer from? I'd weight all your options before taking any job.
