Power fuels will probably hire you. Especially if you are in williston, they are needing people there. But i would see if i could find a place (williston would probably be alright) and see if they would rent you the space week by week. Then if you have to move it according to were ever you get hired you won't be out the money.

The oil field, I believe, because no one could expect the light winter we had, my thinking is they thought it was going to be as bad as last year, record. Plus the frost law weight restrictions is binding stuff up.

Take a look at craigslist before you come up here most places I know have a waiting list for RV parking or you could get a house...

Hi AC22. Thanks for posting so much info. You sound very knowledgeable in this area so I was wondering if I could get a bit of advise from you. I have a friend who is hauling the frac sand in PA, he is leased to a guy & pulling co. trailer, making $45/hr, which seems possibly low compared to some of the info. I've been seeing. I've been looking into this myself, but don't want to get into any games or rat races. I'm not looking for "get rich quick" or to get add'l trucks & put drivers in them, just good work for myself only. I've been an owner/operator for 35+ yrs now, currently operating under my own authority. I have plenty of tank experience, dry & liquid, don't have tanker trailer presently but could get one if needed. We've been looking at relocating to the ND area, not specifically for job but for climate change (we live in TN, though I am originally from up North so I love winter weather, hate the heat & humidity). It's hard to get honest answers out here anymore & you seem to be shooting straight. My wife & I would greatly appreciate any additional insight and any leads you might could provide if you know of any. Thanks so much!! Danny

Not many guys putting on owner ops right now. Things are slow in ND. You might find some spotty work on Craigslist. Buyer beware.

$45 per hour....I just threw up in my mouth. Are you looking at working in ND or PA? I wouldn't recommend coming to ND right now as an owner op since it's slow. I also wouldn't recommend being an owner op for $45 per hour anywhere in the US. You could come to ND and drive a company truck and make $25+. Plus benefits, housing, job security, and a schedule.

    Badlands Power Fuels...google it.
