I think thing are going to get better than they are now up there. A friend of mine has moved several rigs up there from Texas and Oklahoma in the last 2 mos. It is going to pick back up.

There's alot going on here in PA also. Alot of companies hiring for Marcellus shale work. I hear ads on the radio all the time, Haliburton, PumpCo, BJ services, Superior wells, appalchian wells, all need CDL holders with hazmat, no exp. required most times. Then theres alot of companies hauling water to and from gas wells, most want 1yr exp, Force trucking & Falcon drilling and many more smaller companies that I couldnt hope to count. Thats just here north east of pittsburgh. Hopefully someone around the area will call and find a job.

We now have just over 100 drilling rigs in just 3 counties Mckenzie - Williams & Montrail up from 87 in Dec 09 est rig count will be 150 - 190 by summer 2011, I believe eastern MT will take off next year, currently the drilling is still nearly all the Bakken field the Sanish-Three Forks which is below the Bakken is said to be the largest single recoverable field ever.
Hotels are fully booked most the time, have to have camper or be very very lucky to find a rental, but if you want to work there are jobs up here, without the PA DOT hassle - traffic etc + higher pay.
I moved into Rig Moving ( Winch Tractor ) 3 mths ago and love it,
easy 60 - 80 hrs a week. -
how big is the three forks?
-
Three Forks is estimated at 1.9 BILLION bbls of recoverable oil reserves. The Bakken is estimated at 2.1 BILLION bbls of recoverable oil reserves.
Google Bakken Oilfield ND and see what comes up. There was just an oil expo in Bismarck, ND about the Williston Basin and almost 3000 people attended from all over the US, Canada, and even over seas. This is HUGE!!
Tons of jobs here in Williston, but no where to live. Bring a camper.aiwiron Thanks this. -
I started driving about 3 months ago stationed out of belfield, nd. was able to find a place in dickinson, about 20 miles away, very easily

That pay seem's kinda low. Maybe it's just me. I guess natural gas drilling is paying more the crude. I hope one of these year's I can get my feet wet in the field.
