I've been offered a dedicated lane from San Antonio to either IN or IL. They tell me it's about 5000 miles a week. But, the pay is lower. it sounds like more work for fewer bucks, but I'll be home more and have a steady paycheck.

I'm not sure if I should take it or not.

The pay is "lower"...meaning they take off .02 per mile...but dedicated means its the same every week.. It won't last forever, but you'll be doing the same thing every day. Same roads, same shipper/receiver. It is not more work, it just gets boring. I did a dedicated lane for a few weeks while they looked for another O/O to fill it (the paid miles wasn't exactly legally done in the turnaround time frame ;) ). I loved it. Only thing was it was 85 from Fair Play to Atlanta, then 20 from Atlanta to Shreveport. Over and over and over and over and over....you get the point. it got boring as hell lol

I think driving is dull anyway. I actually like that it'll be the same each trip. You get to know where things are, like the best food or cleanest showers.

    Yeah, it's team.

And no, I haven't just started truck driving. I've just started with PAM. I drove for a couple of years a few years ago and now I've returned to it. The last company I drove for went out of business, so there was no way to verify that I'd driven for them. I've had to start over as if I'd never driven, but I came to PAM with over two years driving under my belt.
