Oh the irony. 1 post and no one can sense you're a bitter dude, but 8 months and you have the inner workings of a transportation company figured out.

You know why drivers get starved, because they piss someone off. Take one of those layovers and figure out who you pissed off, make a phone call and apologize. Watch your miles jump up considerably. Sometimes, pride isn't the best thing have.

Apologize?!?! Make a phone call?!?! Listen wise guy, that's exactly the problem right there, yeah I'm bitter, but what makes me sour is this idea that the worker must grovel at the employer's feet. In my original post I spoke on behalf of different point of views (in case you weren't paying attention) I get informed from various informative sources then I "shoot" - you provide the employer a service, what so are you saying truck drivers' have to get down on their knees and beg for miles?!?! Please! If some person in a high ranking position has a personal vendetta against ANY employee, that's either a) unprofessional or b) abuse of power. you're dead wrong pal and you're missing the point; on these forums I read all day about how PAM transport and all those "bottom feeders" treat all of the people that are out to give this industry a sincere try, but fail, not because they can't do the work, but because of the same exact thinking that you got, and even more sadly cause of those people in power who use that against someone just cause they HAVE THE RIGHT TO SPEAK UP. See, this is bigger than "RICO" and her "8 months" - this is about the dignity of a company AND it's workers. In the first few pages of the driver manual it states that they are a union free employer and that they prefer problems to be resolved thru them; Really?!?! So if this is how they "resolve" their issues with it's employees, that's called communism bub, and I accuse you of being a part of it.

Ok, Mr or Miss Rico, you have a couple of good points but the problem I'm having is HOW you express your point. By calling someone hot shot, or wise guy; that's just gonna put up walls between your mouth and the listeners' ears ... For a person who claims that this is not a personal experience you sure seem to be taking it personally. What I think these guys were trying to point out was that you just gotta look at the bright side of things and change your attitude towards the whole situation, and maybe, just maybe things will change. We're all in the same boat here, I mean Scoundrel posted pretty much the same amount of miles that u were making, and I'm in the same area as well, but none of us are rocking the boat making a ruckus about it. Cause we dont want it to tip over, we rather stay dry than get wet; get it? We just accept it for what it is and move on, if you have 8 months or a year as it states on your profile, just move on when ure times up and thank God it didn't last forever.

Not once did I say "grovel at the employer's feet". I simply stated to apologize. That's completely different. Who knows why they're starving you, but I can certainly say if it involves even a tenth of the attitude you carry in your posts on here, that that would be a #### good place to start.

I don't even grovel to PAM's feet. I just do my job. Sure, I do favors, but I also get returns on those favors. Extra day off here and there, shuttle pay, etc. No one here is asking you to be a servant to anyone in PAM's ranks. We're simply suggesting you change your approach on your attitude. Now if you want to continue your back and forth childish tirade, go ahead. But I'll be the first to dismiss any and all problems you have asked this community to assist you with. It's rather apparent you don't want any help, you just want a place you can ##### and whine about how you're being treated unfairly. Very likely you did it to yourself. So, be the bigger person and do the right thing. Apologize. Until then, you'll just get your just desserts.

It's the slow season. Usually from 4th of July until the middle of September freight is slow. Sometime in September holiday freight starts and we run pretty good until New Years. Then there is a dip in miles again until income tax time and people start spending money again. For now, just try to make yourself available, let your DM know that you want to run. If that doesn't work, then run as hard as you can to get as close to your drop as possible then sit on the load until your appt time. You may be able to get some layover pay that way. I know it's not much, but every dime helps during these slow times. Also, when you get pissed at PAM and are ready to go to greener pastures, pull out your computer and go to just about any trucking companies forum on this sight. You will find alot of the same complaints there as you do here. Heck some are even worse. Is PAM perfect? Of course not, but they are not a bad place to get your 1st year experience, then make a more informed desicion about moving on. Been here just under 2 years now have nearly quit a number of times, but after finding that next perfect company then doing a lot of research, I have found that all companies have some type of BS to put up with. At least I know PAM's and can put up with it so far. Just my 2 cents

Wow RICO, sorry to see you are such a bitter human being. Do you realize by attacking any poster with a differing opinion, you only erode your own credibility? I hope tomorrow is a better day for you than today. Be blessed.
