I have been with PAM for almost a year (driving 7 months) medical leave now but waiting on my call to go back out. To me PAM has it's ups and downs but so far so good. I have no complaints about the maintenance of the tractors (trailers different story) miles and length of hauls are granted based on how you work. If you bust tail getting to your final then you get more miles and if not you get less and it also depends on freight flow. Pay is not great, but when you get the opportunity to just be starting out and somebody giving you a chance the rewards are great. Even though I may not get the best paychecks, the rewards of seeing the Rocky Mountains, seeing the LA metro area, seeing the NYC skyline and going to different states compensates for the short paychecks. Another thing is your attitude will determine how far you go with PAM sometimes you have to put up with B.S., but bend just don't break. Keep an open line of communication with your Driver Manager (DM) and let them know when your available so the miles can keep coming other than that if you have any questions feel free to hit me up.

Been with PAM 2+ years. Was an otr for a yr. then went
to a dedicated run, and I'm home every night, weekends
off. It was a big pay cut to come off the otr. When I ran
otr, good miles, check accurate every week, no complaints!
Now doing dedicated is a different story. We have to call
in every day to see if we have a load, which is crap! I've been
Running 3 days a week, because of no loads! Now I'm looking
for a new job. By the way, been on this dedicated run for
a year and a half, no pay raise!! And like a poster earlier,
Im on medical hold as well. They want to know why you
went to the dr. Every time, and what was prescribed! I feel
it Is an evassion Of privacy! Dr. Patient privledge.! If your
just starting out, and go otr, not a bad company to work
    for.

I've been with PAM for almost two years. I've done relay, dedicated and even been a mentor. Right now I'm back to OTR driving. PAM isn't the only trucking company I've worked for, so I have a different view from a lot of other drivers. PAM is alright. The pay is low for the first year, but it's better after that. I'm making $0.32 a mile and will be getting a raise when I hit the two year make in a couple of months.

I think the problem most guys have is they just didn't understand what they were getting themselves into with this job. You live in a truck! Sure, you may have a home and family someplace, but you're there only a few days a month. Once you deal with that and get used to it, you relax and settle in.

I forgot to mention that PAM's health insurance is very good and driver should be taking advantage of it. Also their 401K is something more drivers ought to be participating in.

james625 what are they paying you per mile once you go solo ive read different things still got to straighten it out with the recruiter on how much they pay on the drivers account they are saying 17 1/2 cpm but i swear I read somewhere that it was 26 cpm, I know the pay is gonna suck the first year but is 17 cpm really worth it? How many miles are you averaging a week thanks.
