Can you offer some more details about which school? How long you will be there? On average you should probably plan for atleast $100/wk for food and expenses at a minimum on top of the required amount for permit test, physical, etc.....

Have they sent you a list of items required to bring? Most things are common sense but generally they will also specify other requirements as well.

i got my cdl from road master its about 6500 when i got mine. not sure what it is now. but the local unemployment office had a program that paid 3500 of 6500 for me. your state may have program that will help you pay for school. its hard to say because you included no details. money you should take to school you will need the money for our cdl packet. for my state at the time was 50 dollars. that packet will contain paperwork for your process of getting your cdl with a book to study from. on eating money only you no how much you eat. some companies don't pay your for orientation. look for companies that have paid orientation most of time its about 60-75 a day 3-5 days of orientation.

What do you mean how much money? Bring whatever you can. Bring a debit card. Why would you bring $50 if you have $500 in the bank? makes no sense.......

It's been over 4 years since I went to school for PAM, but when I went, they paid for the school so I didnt have to bring any for that...and they gave me $200 at the end of everything, so that was used to pay for my license. Don't know how much has changed though....
