Hopefully I'll get a CDL for Christmas, and wondering how long is the current wait time for a trainer at Pam? I've read that trainers are not plentiful, but that wasn't a recent thread.
Which brings up my second question: why are there so few recent posts in the Pam threads?
(I know that question will bring about some interesting replies) Are you guys that darn busy?
What's the current wait time for a trainer at PAM?

I've never worked for PAM, but as for your second question, most drivers with any common sense don't name the company they work for because most Companies have someone trolling these sites and try to find out who is posting.
Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
And if this the case, why does this site even bother to have company specific threads?
All I'm saying is that plenty of other company specific threads contain active and recent posts, yet there has been no recent activity in the Pam threads. I'm a little insulted with your common sense remark. But thanks anyway.Captain Call Thanks this. -
They are too busy driving all those miles? lol
Skydivedavec and Drac1985 Thank this. -
Can't really answer you about the trainer wait. I waited 1 week for mine (back in May).
As far as forum activity... well. Just putting it out there that it's possible a lot of PAM's current fleet don't even know this forum exists (did I say that out loud?)
But seriously, feels like the PAM fleet is a different sort of animal. Not a whole lot of, how to say... camaraderie? Or social site activity. Hell even the PAM facebook page only has like the same 5 people commenting/liking posts. -
I don't know the exact wait time for a "mentor", haven't gone down that road yet, but I doubt you'll wait more than a day or two. Orientation in Tontitown?, there's a decent pizza joint two doors down from the budget motel, razorbacks i think. anyway, usually you'll get your mentor out of tonti, but occasionally they have to bus you to littlerock or another terminal to meet your mentor. sucks, but that's just the price. I think mentors are fairly plentiful these days, much of the company's growth has been owner operators, not students lately, and i haven't seen any messages recruiting new mentors over the qualcom in quite a while.
Company trolling? well, i've sent plenty of nasty messages over the qualcom (usually about service dept in irving), and haven't been fired for it...lolSkydivedavec Thanks this. -
"Much of the companies growth has been owner operators"..... I have heard they are lease purchase.

i haven't seen any "lease" or "lease purchase" programs at PAM. The O/O' I see are technically part of PAM Cartage, not PAM Transport (or CEX, PTSI, etc) but it's all basically the same company. Again, I have seen no lease programs at PAM. The "cartage" side of PAM is specifically for O/O's.
