waiting

graduated from c1, little rock, last week, now I am waiting to be picked up by a PAM trainer....looks like the wait is going to be a long one. Some of the students who graduated before me have been waiting for 3 weeks +, a few more weeks , I am going to have to stand in line at the soup kitchen ! Funny, how thrilled I was to get my CDL A in only 16 days ,now it seems like it ain't all that , without being behind the wheel of a 18 wheeler.C1, little rock was all in all good . The class room instruction was thorough, and only the dumb ##### did not get the CDL permit , range was also good , though I could have used more road time, just got 4 days total ( one day out in the country and 3 in traffic in town ) , luckily I had driven a 10 speed before. The instruction overall was good , though the 'motel' could have been better. ( nothing within walking distance, but other students with wheels were kind enough to provide a ride ). The students there were all easy going , decent people, and we all shared a common goal on wanting to get our plastic, and everyone got along pretty good no matter your race or nationality.
Anyway here's hoping I get picked up by a trainer soon, before I DO have to stand in line at a soup kitchen.....good luck y'all...

Is C1 a private school? How many hours of training did you receive?

c1

C1 is a private school, I went through driver solutions, who are headhunters for a small group of transportation co's.....I got a total of 17(counting 2 sundays ,when there was no classroom or driving, students were expected to study on their own) days of instruction and another day was spent testing. The first 4 days are long classroom hours, starting at 7am ending at 8 or 9 pm, the first day also includes your physical, which takes up most of the morning . then you go and test for your permit, after which you do range work for about 5 days , which is from 7am to 4 or 6 p.m depending on what else is going on , then you get road training, which in my case was 5 days , with the students taking turns behind the wheel ( there were 4 in the truck and the instructor ), I got about 3 hrs, all day each day for 5 days.Road included driving in the country and then progressing into city limits.Could have used more road time, but I guess they thought I was ready, and was sent to test (skills), I guess they were right, as I did get the plastic....hope this helps...P.S...hours of training also depends on class size, ours was an unusually large class of 21 students.....
