Well I've never driven one but they are by far the best looking "aero" truck on the market IMO. They got to be better than the Volvo to drive, anything would be.

My post was more generic to the whole Peterbilt line. Some simple fixes could make the trucks almost perfect for the driver and rider. Lower the dash some, re-arrange the switches a bit, work on placement and brightness of indicator lights, put in some actual cup holders with a place for change, and fix the sleeper vents so they shut tight, and stay that way going down the road.
The Challenger Thanks this. -

I love my 387, its one of the most comfortable trucks I have owned. I'm 6'2" and have all the room I need. The truck rides like a Cadillac. I do wish they had a little more storage, but nothing a few plastic containers wont fix.
broadsword Thanks this. -
I drove one for about 1 month before they pulled me out of it. I didn't like it at first. It took a while to get use to and then I liked it. That has been over a year ago. Now I get it one and I can't stand it. They say it has good vivisbility from the drivers seat, but that is one big blind spot over by the front right wheel.

I traded my Freightliner Century Class for my 387. Trying to compare the two is like apples and oranges. The Pete is more solid, quiet and most of all, more comfortable. The Century had more glass, and in my opinion, too much. I really like my 387. Wasn't too sure about the Autoshift when I got it, but I really like it and am glad I got it.
Only shortfall I can speak of is the fact it's hard to see over the right front fender when you have your CB mounted on the factory radio pedestal. Storage isn't as vast as the Century and mine is a studio sleeper, not a condo which lessens any storage on the top bunk. But it's all good!
Oh...and in case anyone is wondering, it's not a former Werner truck. It came from the Summit trucking fleet. -
I have driven 3 different 379s, a '99, '06 & '07, and the newer they were the quieter they were...could actually hear the XM radio on the '07...
Would like to try out a 387 if I ever get the chance. I definitely prefer the lower sleepers, like studio sleeper. -
Got to luv some of those road signs out there...where did you see the one on your signature? -
Have to agree the dash is a bit too high up. I would rather drive a century than a 387.
