I'm on my 2nd 387. The only issue I have with it is the composite doors. They crack at the hinges and there's no way to fix it. Even the doors on T2000's crack. Dont know what they were thinking there.

Im about to trade my Century in for a 387. Im looking foward to it, Im tired of how this truck rides and how loud it is. Im a tall guy so I hear it is great for tall people. 475 Cat w/13spd. Dyno at 466hp very little blow by.

I am looking at buying my 1st truck leaning towards a 387 its either that or a t2000 but I have heard a lot of good about the 387. The one I have as a picture is the one I am looking at. I actually would prefer one around 500k this one has 880k on it. I was thinking as a first truck and new to being a O/O best get something with a good rep and kw and petes are to me top of the industry. I been driving the freightliners class and columbia's but I really don't like them I am only 5'10 and when I lower the seats I feel like I am sitting to high plus their is no room in them. I will have my kids with me alot as a o/o so the 75 inch sleeper is great and the sleeper window on both sides allows my kids to look out if they decide to chill in the back there. I have also seen more 387s with APUs and fridges that will help cut fuel and food cost down for me.

My uncle and dad drove a 387 for 12 years put over 2 million miles on it rebuilt the engine once, besides a few minor repairs and two transmission repairs. The truck ran like a beauty interior was awesome both loved the truck and no problem with it and my dads 5'9 my uncles 6'0 we sold it my uncle bought a new t660 likes the truck but regrets the interior since its too tight and my dads sticking to Pete and the Pete we sold ran a 550 cat with an 18 speed

You can get it removed but keep your truck under 68 for the best mileage with a cummins then it doesn't use the turbo boost. We just got another 387 its a 2011 with a isx15 450 and it gives 7.1 mpg. Its light weight and has def, with super singles on the truck. Its limited to 68 mph and I can load 47,000 in the box and I run reefer to Canada.
