cat c15 trouble!

    1998 cat c15 550 and the oil pressure has increased too high. checked the relief valve on oil pump and NO ONE seems to know what else could cause this!!

    Check your sending unit... it's unlikely the engine just increased it's oil pressure by itself.

    My suggestion would be to have the shop put the computer on it and see what the ECM says the oil pressure is. Here' s why. The needle on my volt gauge almost pegged out. Thinking the the charging system was over charging the batteries I went to see about getting it fixed before it damaged the batteries. The mechanic said before we go too far, let's check something. He plugged his computer in and the ECM said the alternator was putting out 13.6 volts. The gauge showed well over 14. The gauge was bad.
