So I'm in Charlotte, NC and decide to get a PM done at RUSH Peterbilt, overpriced but what the hell .. I had time ....

I tell them leave the fuel filters alone cause they were just changed at Cat a week ago, Rotella oil and add 2 gal of lucas ....and keep your balwin filter off my truck and use a Cat filter.

So they drain the oil, drop the filter and spin a new Cat filter on, Add lucas first, then add the oil ..... start the truck and rev the motor for the oil pressure to get up and they shut it off and top off the oil ...

now is sounds like the top end is not getting any oil .....clackety clack clack

So i go back the same day and tell them something is not right and ask what did you do to my engine? ... they say nothing and hook the computer to it to check for codes .... low oil pressure codes ....2 of them ....from when they had it .... I check the oil and its a gallon low ... So I add oil only to find out they also broke the oil cap ... Now I tell them to walk me through what they did ...After they drained the oil.

1. put on a new Cat Filter ....WITH NO FRIGGIN OIL IN IT!!!!
2. Add Lucas .... BEFORE THE OIL
3. add oil ... ON TOP OF THE LUCAS.

Then they started it and could not get the oil pressure up so They Revved the motor for like 20 seconds till it came up ....

after 2k miles I had an oil sample taken and copper and iron are already high.

I called RUSH Corporate and asked what they intended to do about it and they said they will not fix it.

when asked why they did not prefill the oil filter they replied

" we do not prefill the filter becuase that oil could be contaminated and would not get filtered before it hit the engine "

So I asked them why they were putting contaminated oil in my truck. how they expected the lucas ( motor honey) to get sucked up through the pickup screen and fill the filter before any damage occurs?

no reply ...

Now when I start the truck cold the oil pressure comes to 50 and hovers for a minute then climbs to 65 slowly, the oil temp never gets higher than 150 and the truck runs cold all the time .... the longer it runs, the colder it gets till the oil temp does not even register on the gauge

I am going to have to replace the main and rod bearings for scarring because they have no clue!!! and who knows what else can be wrong now ...have to goto cat and have them look at it i guess

I totally agree STAY AWAY FROM RUSH TRUCK-San Diego. They have the worst customer service. They do repairs without getting approval. Then they hand you a bill for 800.00 and The problem is not fixed. I did this for about a month. Every time there was a new bill. I had to take the truck to another facility to get it fixed. They have people that have no idea what they are doing. I remember when a Peterbilt dealer was top of the line. Rush is not one of them. Peterbilt needs to look at who is representing them. Rush is a sad image for Peterbilt
