i agree with the fifth wheel height. change it to a lower fifth wheel or you will have to put on 22.5 wheels with low pro tires.

Thanks for all the info and sorry it took me so long to log back in. I guess i have to set it up to email when there is a new comment. I had figured that the drive line would be effected once i change the suspension height. I am going to post a pic of my fifth wheel. It certaily isn't a raised one for a tanker so i am not sure if there is a standard and a low profile. Let me know what you guys think.

As for the tire size, i have 24.5 LP's. I really don't want to go any lower on those because i have a Ddec4 with a 15 speed and 3.70's. In other words if i want to run 65 i am already at 1650-1700 rpms. I am thinking about regearing it lower gears this spring.[IMG]

If anyone has any thoughts on how to rig this rare Detroit Pete to cruise at 70-73mph to get the best fuel mileage, let me know. She has a million on her and i am going to give her a restoration over the next year while she is working. The engine is still in top notch shape so i have a couple years on that yet. it has the 430/470hp ecm set up, which i hear is good. Does anyone have any recommendation on a company that offers a flash that can bring a 12.7 to life without spending 2500 at pittsburg power?

I just looked up the options from Jost. The different fifth wheel heights range from 6.75 to 9.75. Of course mine is the 6.75.

Yes! When I purchased my Pete I had the same problem figuring out whether I needed air leaf or low air. The company that I least to, Landstar Inway had a 24 inch fithwheel height requirement so I went with low air leaf.. I have seen airl leaf equiped petes pulling everything from vans to lowboys so I gusess it might not matter but I didn't want to take a chance.. Im getting old so that height I quoted might be wrong but you get the jist of what I am trying to say.....Aint NO Feeling Like Petermobeallin' !!!
