I put a 600hp turbo on a 475-490 cat 3406e in a 2000 peterbilt. Michigan Cat is telling me that it's gonna melt down my motor because the fuel bowls are different, then a Cat dealer a friend of mine deals with in california says that I wont have any problems.

I was just hoping to get some insight from you guys on what to do.

    Thanks in advance, Tom.

Will a 600hp Turbo work on a 475/550 C-15?, I have been told that it won't get enough air and cause piston Melt down

You won't meltdown the motor. You will have issues with high EGT's though. The reason for this is the exhaust housing and turbine wheel are bigger in diameter. This makes the turbo hard to spool, because you don't have the fuel to turn it properly with a 475-550 engine. Are you using a CAT 600 turbo or a BW OEM replacement 600 turbo?
