I bought a new 389 pete and it has a lot of clutch pedal noise. If you push the pedal down alittle bit like a inch or two the noise goes away. Help the noise is killing me. I miss my KW

Clutch is out of adjustment or your throwout bearing is going bad

a bad throwout bearing only makes noise when it's pushing in on the clutch.

it won't make any noise when it's at rest. becuase there's no pressure on it.

i'm thinking more along the lines of the transmission input shaft. you press the clutch in release the clutch disc. the shaft quits moving.

but none of us is there to listen.

Ill try adjusting the clutch see what that does. Truck only has 50,000 miles on it.

Big trucks use pull type clutches with the release bearing attached to the clutch and the bearing is always in motion.
I would just lube the release bearing before doing a clutch adjustment.

    steve092 Thanks this.

Check the clutch brake. Eaton is shipping bad brakes right now. I've been changing them out all week. Put your finger up there and see if you have a gap where you have a 4" brake and not a 3.5 brake. Should be a 3.5. If you have a 5/8 gap, you have the wrong clutch.

An adjustment might help, but greasing the throw out bearing will also take care of the issue.

    Wrong clutch brake, not clutch.

Worn out end links on your clutch linkage. One of the two is a rubber isolator and will allow metal to metal contact when worn out.

I bought a new 337 medium duty with PX8 engine and Fuller 10 speed. Clutch has always been noisy unless you hold it down about an inch. I took it in when under warranty. The mechanic said; You're stuck with it because when you marry this engine with this transmission you have the noise. Sounds like BS to me and it is BS to have a chicken #### installation like this. Noise bugs me bad. I wish I would have ordered an automatic.
