I use the toe end of my old socks, cut about 4 inches off the toe and slip them over. Can also use the elastic leg part on the other rubbers to keep them quiet also. No grease, no mess!!! PS: I roll them around ever so often to keep them lose and quiet.

A freind of mine used silk dress socks. Put one on each rubber block. Works like a charm.

^^^^^^ YEP^^^^^^
No lie about gettin your jacket in it though -
I took a pair of tube socks, but since the isolators were worn so bad I had to double them over once.
Worked perfect! Even the slightest bumpy road would have them thumping and squeaking before.
Now... near silence from the cowl/firewall. Now on to finding the other squeaks & rattles
I don't care if they only last a few months... the quick fix is worth it. But I'm still going to check with the stealer on replacement parts for future reference. -
What kind of noise does this issue tend to make? Since they are of similar design, are these isolators also on 367's?

Ok if you want to use the same stuff peterbuilt techs use its eaton fuller o-ring lube its a clear very thick lubricant. I know as I used to be a mechanic at peterbuilt.

Use Teflon tape and run it along the edges where the hood and cab meet as it will eventually wear thru the fiberglas. Also you can use any Parke O-ring lube and try to keep it off your hands as it's a thick-sticky grease.
