Hi i am new on here i have a problem with mine peterbilt 387 2002 just changed out the starter on it and it keeps blowing the 50 amp starter fuse any help would be much appreciated thanks

Thanks for reply just checked batt. are new to how would u check for bad ground ? and would that be a cause the first time it happen it just turnd over once amd it blow the fuse now it does not even crank over it just blowes the fuse

Is it possible that you have a bad starter? Or that the wires were not correctly connected, as it sounds like a dead short to blow that big of a fuse that quickly.

Check or change out your ignition and or starter relays. I have a 2006 387 with a C15 and I had the same problems.

I took it to the TA after a road call to get it started and the mechanic swapped the relays and now I have no more problems. The is also 1 in the glove box on my truck.

Thanks guys for all your replays well come to find out the new starter was bad right out of the box .
