Been looking for a bigger truck to replace my old Freightliner FLD112 and ran across a 1996 Pete 379. We would be using it to haul grain out of fields and possible hauling 100 mile trips in the off season. The truck has a Detroit 60 series with a 10 speed. Has 675,000 miles on the clock. One thing that didn't look quite right is its only got one air cleaner on it. What's up with only having one air cleaner? Is it an easy add on to put the other air cleaner on the drivers side? I know this isn't really a bad reason not to buy a truck but since I'm gonna spend the money I'd like to have it look like I want. Are there any differences in the trucks with one vs. dual air cleaners? I really think I'd have to add one if I bought the truck.
Below is a link to a picture of the truck. What ya think she's worth?

Single Air Cleaner? Easy to add one to drivers side?

Dual air cannisters are an option. You can add another one but be prepared to spend LARGE dollars, them things are priced like gold.

I saw how expensive those things are. It sure makes it look better though. lol

dual stacks, deserve dual air! LOL
See if it looks as nice once you price it, I know I'd be taking pics from passenger side.
one nice thing is you don't need it to be hooked up, so save a few dollars and get the shiny thing for show.
BTW, driver side high beam looks burned out. -
That's kind of what I thought. Just add one for looks. Doesn't have to be functional. Lol. They are asking $25,000 for the truck. It's got 675,000 miles on it. Tires are supposed to be in excellent comdition. These day cabs are pricey. Planning on checking it out tomorrow.

Find a wrecked Pete and grab the intake pipes that cross over and the pipe that goes through the cab. You will have to cut 2 holes. One in the fire wall and another in the side. Measure carefully. Watch out for the rats nest of wire in behind. It's a big job but do able just take your time, seal anything going into cab.
