I've been looking at the 2015 pete 579 and have a few friends who drive them. Been told the 15's have been pretty much trouble free and their getting just under 8mpg

I got my 2015 579 , loving it ,getting about 7.8mpg Midwest to northeast states , paccar is feeling great. I just put about 9,000miles on it and been doing great. Especially right out of Denton TX , I got mine built , no bugs yet.

Mine turned 18000 and I won't trade it for the world.
No bugs other than an hid bulb burnt and read this; single bulb is $100.00 at vato-zone.
model D1s osram. It went out last night, kw wanted me to buy the whole headlight assembly, and Pete of knoxville is closed on sundays..

Hi there trucker's, i went today on the road test of pet 579....it was equip. with 2 baloon's on front of the steering wheel both sides ...so it's a new experience for me... It felt kinda strange, i guess you have to get used to it. It's coast extra 1400$ to have it there. What you guy's thinking of it? Is it worth it? I guess it is, specialy if I planing on doing long haul with it to California with my wife as a team.
It had a Cummins inside of it, salemen told us it much noisier then MX motor.
Beacouse of the 2 baloons on front steering wheels it fels realy strange i tell you. i did not felt the road as i use to. it bother me a little bit.
But overall i like this truck better then T680!

    Lucar Thanks this.

My truck has all the bells and whistles, it comes with more options than the 75th anniversary. (Thank God)
I consider the 4 airbag front very nice and comfortable for our long drives, however in those bad parking lots at the truck stop makes the front easier on the bumps.
the only downside to it is if you have a roof fairing on windy days it will swing a bit.
I have done icy roads and the traction is there, no real distraction from the steering operations.
if I knew then what i do now I'd still get a Paccar 500 in it, it's quiet and boasts good power at the rate of a 500/1850. I pass peeps uphill like I did in my Cat and then some.
the upgraded interior is a must if you're ordering, there's no option you'll regret in this truck, whether you go auto/manual tranny, the 13/18 spds are great in it.

    KonstanTrucker Thanks this.

I agree, 500/1850 hits them hills just as smooth as my Cummins , 525hp I drove, I got all the bells and whistles to and it is an amazing truck, I do have the roof fairings and cab fairings and its not that bad in the wind, I drive the US80 in PA windy and it stays in line.
