Hello I have a 07 Pete 387 and wondered if anyone knows why every gauge lights up a red light momentarily when I hit especially hard bumps potholes. It used to occur every once in a while but lately is happening with increasing frequency. It doesn't affect the performance of my truck. Thank you

Probably a bad ground connection. Get a tester and start looking, because eventually, it WILL make itself known to you, and it will do it a the most dangerous, inconvenient times.

Of course you could just avoid hitting bumps. . .:biggrin_25525:

I agree with BD, most of the times it's a bad ground. Make sure the ground wire to the cab is good, or if you can't find it , run another one from cab to frame. However, avoiding the bumps is not really an option, as the roads today are one continuous bump!

yea, if all of them are doing it, you can rule out a bad gauge. First thing id check is partially broken fuse. not likly, but a real simple fix if you get lucky. If it happens to all of them, skip their separate grounds and find the common line.

Get a test light and put it on the power feeding the gaudges and ground it to a good ground. Hit some bumps. If test light stays lit but gadges dont, you know its on the ground side. If light goes out to, its on the power side. Dont check each feed individually, only check where they all connect together. wire could be bare someware or, it could be a bad ground conection to frame.

i would have guessed other things would have been intermittent to then, but as long as its fixed it doesn't need to make sense.
