I have a 96 378, just put in a 99 3406E and all is good except for the check engine light and volt meter.

The check engine light blinks 5 - pause 5. Not sure what it is.

The volt meter is only reading 13.5 volts. I have 14.3 at the alternator and 14.07 at the starter. Checked both sides of the frame mounted circuit breaker and it is the same. I don't know where else to look.

55 means no codes. Check the wiring to the cruise switches.

What is the voltage at the voltmeter?

I have 13.6 at the meter. There is no cruise control. Used to be on the shifter but it was removed a few years ago

Find the cruise swtich wires. To pull flash codes, you use the cruise swtiches, you truck is stuck in flash mode. This is probably becuase the set/resume swtich wires are shorted together.
