well its almost like I jinks myself cause lastnite I think I lost at least one injector drove 200 miles with at least one injector half ### firing, I know driving it wasn't the best thing to do but I was in Booneville, Arkansas and had to drop my load in Mesquite, Texas then bobtailed to the house, fort worth, surprisingly once I drop my load and starting bobtail the motor cleared up, the load had to be to the rail yard by midnight, and a tow bill I cant imagine being less then 1200.00$ since I was 3 states away from home, oddly no black smoke or white smoke, also when it did start to smooth out the motor seem to have more power then I have ever noticed with the truck in the last 7 months I owned the truck, how soon will these guy have a fresh 6 pack to my door step?

How do you know your injectors are going bad?

I was getting upper 6mpg 3-4 months ago, know im in the 4mpg range, low on power, wont climb a hill, it has a really bad miss to it, the boost is around 28-30psi so that checks out good, according to the paper work that I have from caterpillar the turbo was replaced when it was inframed, so I cant imagine the waste gate being bad, if the waste gate was bad I would imagine it being a gutless dog rite out of the whole which its not, I just changed the oil 2k miles ago and I pulled the dipstick this morning its not making oil but oil was low and it smelled like diesel, if I would guess I would say its just the coil/solenoid on top that fires the injector that's going bad, i talked to the previous owner and they said they never replaced the injectors the whole 15 years that they owned the truck, since the truck just rolled over 1 million miles 1 week ago and all the info that i have stated above its time for new injectors, does anybody have a link that they can post on this thread showing how to remove and install injectors on a 1995 3406E? im not afraid to get dirty but afraid of doing something wrong and having a hugh motor problem from doiong something wrong, have a dodge cummins and which i have replaced the injectors on and adjusted the valves on and 40k miles later no issue but from what i have read on this site the injector install on a cat motor is a little differnet cause u have to adjust jakes at same time sounds confusing to me, sorry for the long paragraph just adding the info i have and know about the truck and trying to gather as much info i can before i over think this problem and give in and sent it to the shop, thanks in advance

Keep in mind if you put new injectors in the computer has to be programmed with the flow values for each injector so they all deliver the same amount of fuel. Something you can't do.

I have also read that to so that's another reason why im putting in the shop, and also going to tell them to reflash the ecm and tune the power up from 435 to 475hp, once everything is all done im hoping for a stronger better running truck

In that motor the injectors do not have to be calibrated.
