I just did a double first. Bought my first cat and my first pete.

2008 389 with a c15. Seeing as this is my first cat motor is there anything I need to know? Certain filters they like, specific maintenance that must be done? Or are they just the same as anything else?

I know emissions are a issue but don't worry about mentioning that, it's not a problem on this specific motor.

Truck puts 600 to the ground.

    Thanks for the input.

    I have a 08 T660..

Top turbo will be suspect around 500,000-550,000 just change it before if blows.. (it will be down on boost) Keep an eye on the fuel pressure, as it most likely will be low, and make it not pull very well in hills.. (shakes like an injector is bad) Run Donaldson filters on mine and they do fine.

And 600 to the ground? must have a delete kit i'm guessing

If it does we cannot talk about that hear.

I have found that on my Acert's, they seem to like the Cat brand filters the best.

I see your from saskatoon, I have the same engine in an 08 Pete, did the work at K+K in Delisle and since then it has run like a cat should, always run Cat filters and I change out the crankcase filter about every 3rd oil change. If you leave that filter it will start to build crankcase pressure and cause oil leaks around your oil pan gasket and some other small areas. Since its already been worked on it should be just like any other Accert Cat engine.

If the truck still has the original air compressor change it ASAP ..... Mine let go and pressurized the cooling system and took out the radiator ....

There was an update on those compressors .... At least that is what I was told.

P.S. The early SDPs do not have the updated rocker arm studs . Mine did not have them....

When you do the next overhead check this.... And update...
