When it rains

    2000 379 with 60 series when it rains motor spudders and smokes white. Doesn't matter rpms or gear. Only happens when throttle is slightly pushed. It will quit when I press on throttle or let all the way off. I can put it in neutral and play with the throttle and it will do it also. As soon as i run out of the rain it will run normal. No white smoke at start up. Any ideas?? New ecm 2x Inframed, new head and new injectors, new boost sensor and lots of other new parts!

    I would venture a guess and say it's somewhere in your harness. A connector somewhere with a bad weather pack.

    FT. window leak,wet boots T.P.S on inside of fuel pedal geting wet. replace tps. 30$ and ck conn. at plug in wires for rubber seal split?

    when i had a 379 it would have similar ishues...we determined that it was getting rain in the air intakes and the water was closeing them up since hey were watter blocking filters

    It's easy to say rain affects an external breather. In reality all trucks take unfiltered air in from outside the hood. Frieghtliner used to pull air in from the top right behind the hood and in front of the windshield. Perfect place for water to be taken in but I have never seen one affected by rain.

    It's most likely electrical. A helper and a spray bottle on a sunshiny day will probably show the culprit.
