Hi guys, I have a 2003 C15 6NZ. It has a 3 piece manifold with 2 clamps that have a fabric at the connecting points. Does anyone know if I can use something like a wood/coal stove uses in place of the fabric that cat sells. It seems to lose its seal pretty quick. Kind of desintergrates after a while.

Chunk it in the scrap pile and get a PDI manifold. They're pricey but they don't leak.
Loaderlou Thanks this. -
Loaderlou Thanks this.

I'd opt for the PDI manifold as well. I think that is the route I'll be going soon.
but if money is a tight issue, they do make an exhaust wrap with silcone spray. It's designed to take the exhaust temp directly at the manifold.
They sell it at most parts stores and at Pittsburg Power. Comes in 2" roll and have to buy the spray separatley.Loaderlou Thanks this. -
Thanks for the comeback guys, much appreciated. I should have done the PDI manifold when I did the turbo, but for now I have to keep replacing the fabric under the clamps. Trying to find a better product that will last. Thanks again. Keep the shiney side up.

What they said........ -
So shiny and new! They don't stay that way forever. Mine's been on there a little over 2 years and the coating on the outside is flaking, peeling, has some surface rust. But no leaks.

Bid they improve your fuel economy as stated on the web site?
Can you tell any difference in top tubo boost pressure? -
Yes my fuel economy is about 3/10ths better..... I haul heavy.
My turbo boost is the same , however when I romp on it on a hill it does not heat up as fast.......
I blew the original exhaust manifold gasket ... So it was a no brainier.
I'm very happy with the piece . -
Boost unchanged EGT's definitely went down but I don't know about mpg improvement couldn't really say. When my motor went down the stock one came off during the inframe and that one went on.
