My 2008 389 with c15 is being a #######. I have a lack of power to the ground, boost is 39 (should be more with the tune it has). The jakes have recently turned to crap, you can't even hear them they are so weak. My low oil pressure light keeps popping up at lower rpm and when driving the red engine and yellow engine light keep popping up then going away.

I wanted to read the dash codes and see if I could narrow down a issue that maybe I could fix myself but turning key to on position and holding resume/set with cruise on but to no avail..... at this point the engine lights is not on of course, only when driving and intermittent.

Is there a way to view inactive codes without a special computer tool or am I way above my pay grade on this one?

    Thanks in advance.

Is it an sdp cat? Is all your emission junk still intact?

I am not sure about the sdp but it has a bypass done on it.

All is still intact. Just cgi is blocked (think that's what it's called)

Ah ok ... Sounds just like mine was running when I had mine (I left my emissions alone and no tune) ...

Might want to look at crankcase filter, mine clogged up real fast, after I hollowed out the core of that it solved the low oil psi problem. Mine also liked to pump oil through the compressor into the air tanks. It also liked to pump oil right out the dipstick from time to time ... I would get 40 psi max, on a good day. It would cut back to 20-25 most of the time and had no power. Caterpillar said there is nothing wrong with it. Glad I don't have it anymore.

Might want to also do same kind of thing rawze does in his YouTube videos with soot through all the egr. Cat just calls egr something else but it is the same idea. Mine was rebuilt under warranty at 799,000 km. They said was full of soot inside the engine. Ran great for a few weeks after that then back to same old nightmares.

    Good luck dude.

My air tanks were full of oil and my driver never noticed it being down 16 litres last month so I just put a new compressor and air drier on.

No way to read inactive codes without reader or software hooked up. If it's an SDP, they do not have flash codes, so unless you have a drivers display that tells you, you can't even get active codes.

If it's not an SDP, you can get active codes buy turn the cruise "OFF" then hold the set or resume. If there are no active codes, you get a 55.

Ok so it turns out I found the issue. Everything I posted was based on what my driver had told me. I went to grab it and the first thing I noticed was there was no ####### oil in it!!!!! 20L later, no low oil pressure..... haven't drove it yet but assume jakes will work fine now.

Had 16 litres empty into the air tanks a few weeks back and then replaced the air compressor. This time I drained the one tank and no oil..... where the f is it going? I'll have it in our shop later after work.

    Any ideas till then?
