Hello all! I am in the process of restoring a 1998 379. Truck has just been repainted, and I am starting on the interior. My dashboard has some cuts, cracks, previous glueing, holes, and gouges out of it and I am contemplating replacing the dash - now when I say dashboard, I am referring to the black plastic that stretches the entire width of the truck, not the gauge panels.

Does anyone know how difficult it is to remove / replace the entire dash? I have several trucks here that I can rob parts out of, and all of them have the dashes still in them.

Never actually taken the whole dash out, but had many parts of it out. Just a ton of screws and lots of wiring and airlines in the way. Probably looks a lot worse than it actually is.

    Answered my own question.

Its not bad at ALL! With the windshields out, its a touch easier, but I imagine it could be done with windows in.

Remove glove box, remove 6-7 screws between dash and windshild, drill out a handfull of rivets around where the gauge clusters go - and out it comes! (I had all of the lower trim panels removed beforehand, so that helped as well. There is a screw in the defroster duct behind the main gauge cluster that tricked me for a bit.

If I can get the photos to attach, I marked all the rivits with bule circles, and the screw with red circles... View attachment 79767 View attachment 79768 View attachment 79769 View attachment 79770
