I have a 2013 Peterbilt 320 and I am coming up with aftertreatment outlet NOx sensor - abnormal uprate. no communications or invalid data transfer rate detected on the J1939 data link between ECM and the aftertreatment outlet NOx sensor SPN 3226 Fmi 9 Cnt 1

we changed the NOx sensor near the exhaust stack (which we assumed to be the outlet sensor) but the same code keeps coming up. does anyone have any ideas as to where to look to solve the problem?

we also got an engine protection Torque Derate SPN 1569 FMI 31 Cnt 1 which I assume is due to the above issue.

    Thanks!

Being that this is a 2013, are you sure you don't still have engine warranty?

I do have a warranty, however the dealer is a few days out from being able to look at it and I need the truck back asap. thought it would be a simple sensor change.

FMI 9 - sensor reads too much NOx in exaust, electric problems are FMI 3 ore 4.

So try to replace sensor, it may be incominatade with exust ash

We replaced the sensor already, but no avail. had to send to dealer. Turns out, the fuse box was corroded in the cab of the truck. they said it was a known peterbilt problem, but since it was over a year old, not covered under chassis warrantee!
