In my Pete 377 I purchased, since it is spring ride, it is a bit rough. Also, the drivers seat is kind of old and very "firm". I was thinking if I could get a newer seat, it might make the ride a bit more comfortable. There are a few salvage yards in my area. My question is, do I have to find a seat from another Peterbilt, or will any truck seats work?
    thanks,

Almost any truck seat should work. Are you wanting to replace the whole seat (bottom air suspension framework) or just the cushion part? The only reason I ask is if your only wanting to replace half you may have to get a cushon made for the brand of seat your truck has.

My existing suspension framework is ok, I was just thinking of finding a softer seat back and cushion. It might be easier to find a whole complete seat unit?

I've got an $850 Atlas leather seat. Most uncomfortable seat I've ever set in. Was already in the trk but looking for a KW OEM seat so they will match.

The KW OEM Bostrom seat cushions suck, too. Leather or cloth. I got an Air Hawk seat cushion. No more problems. :D Hated it for a few days, till I got it adjusted properly. Can't drive even 4hrs straight without it. Best $100 I've ever spent. Got 300k miles out of the first one before it was worn out. About 130-150k on the current one. :D

Softer seat foam and shaped more like a bucket seat would be nice. All the others are too flat, like a board for my butt. Creates high pressure areas that cause poor circulation and pain/discomfort.

Now, part of the problem you have, is the 377 is a setback axle truck. If it will work with what you haul, I HIGHLY recommending getting a set-forward axle truck with air-ride drive axles the next go 'round, if you can swing it. Long hood, if it'll fit where you go. Made a HUGE difference for me going from T800 KW trucks, to a long hood W900L. Between that and now pulling a trailer with a 10' 1" spread vs a closed tandem, I haven't been to a chiropractor since. :D Knees don't hurt much anymore either.

Get some good shocks on there as well. It will help if they are old. Been there, done that.

If you don't replace the suspension on the current seat base, replace the shock on it.

Run the tires at the max cold PSI? Back it off by 5psi. Will help some, and not hurt the tires. I did that, and haven't had any tire problems from it.

I have an '05 379 and put Comfort Ride seats in the week after I bought the truck. No regrets. Best seat I have ever sat in. After five years and about 600000 mi they still look good.
My old W900 had leather seats and the looked and felt bad. Hated those seats.
