On April 28 1944 a total of 749 US soldiers and sailors died after three ships involved in a training exercise were ambushed by German torpedo boats just off Slapton Sands near Stokenham on the Devon coast.

The full scale of the tragedy remained hidden for almost 50 years because of a secrecy order issued by General Dwight D Eisenhower, the supreme commander of the allied expeditionary force, who feared news of the disaster could destroy morale or tip off the Germans.

This was Operation Tiger, preparation for D-Day. Could you image what the fallout would be if this happened today. The Democrats would be demanding a total retreat from the operation, they would be demanding the arrest of Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower for withholding the truth of the failed training from the American people. They would be declaring failure and defeat of American policy in Europe. They would be demanding "phased re-deployment" of American forces for the welfare of the soliders. They would have handed Europe to the Germans.

3000+ soliders have died in a 4 year war against Al Queda and muslim insurgents. On 9/11 3000+ civilians were killed in 1 attack. During the Clinton Administration, no less than 4 attacks occured against U.S. interests in the United States and abroad, 100's of civilians were killed during these attacks. Clinton's inaction led us to 9/11. His lack of motivation to fight terrorist and to perform his job as Commander in Chief caused 9/11.

Since 9/11 no attacks have occured against United States interest here or abroad. Under the leadership of Bush, Al Queda and the countries that support terrorism is under increased pressure and strain. Saddam Hussein was taken out of power, tried, and executed for his actions. The Iraqi people were able to vote for their own government. Schools are opened, GIRLS and boys have an opportunity to get an education. Hospitals are being built, electric and water is being insituted to parts of the country that never had it. But the DIMS consider Bush a failure. they consider the policies in Iraq a failure. I would ask what are they comparing this to? What are the DIMS expecting? What is their plan that will defeat the terrorist aggression? What is their plan to divert the sectarian violence, to gurantee stability of Iraq. Just like during WWII, times are hard, the results are not always clear, but someday they will be. As long as we can prevent the Liberals and the Democrats from destroying any hope for success.

As a Viet Nam era Vet, we knew that our lives could be given up for our country! Something that we just accepted, and didnt question. Once you get into 'situational ethics' in the military, any hope of a dedicated, go-forward without question force is eliminated!! That may seen like a weakness, to question the leadership, but it is a MUST in a disciplined military corp!!! I'm not a Marine, but Semper Fi!!

Clinton was able to arrest and inprison the terrorists who performed WTC (93...only President for 6 weeks not 9 months), also the ones who performed both Embasseys as well as the Cole. No attacks abroad???? why would they when they have soldiers at their reach to kill. saddams trial is questionable as the Head Judge was replaced 3 or 4 times...As far as schools, hospitals and such so what...thats not the job of our Military. Why Repubs keep bringing it up is beyond reason....Bush still is unable to prove a Saddam/ 9-11 connection. He has yet to provide proof of WMD. Even Powell and the CIA is saying Bush cherry picked intell..that means he told part thruths...a PART THRUTH isn't a whole TRUTH..thus its a lie.

Its simple Bush thinks he can make a United States of Iraq. He got Saddam, that was the goal, oh wait only his initial goal because he believes he should protect resources that are not his and make a democracy out of a Muslim country. Again trying to force his ideology on other ppl. The insurgents are a Iraqi problem, building infrastructure is not our problem.

I don't have a problem with questioning the war in Iraq, it would be nice if the DIMS would provide a legitimate solution to the war, but that's something the DIMS haven't and won't do. They can't because a soultion requires commitment and leadership and that's something they don't have. The DIMS are good at snappy talking points and pointing the finger of other people's decisions. Out of all the DIMocrats running for President, have you heard any of them come up with a plan other than "phased redeployment"? It's a snappy little phrase, but that's all it is. It's another word for defeat and retreat. They are not offering any long term solution for our protection.
