Important Truckers Forum Notice!

Politics Do Not Pass/Pass With Care. Today's truckers are far more educated and cognizant of the issues regarding politics due to the sharp increase in talk radio, and various trucking news media sources. Talk politics. Do truckers like politicians?

Listen To FauxNews? May As Well Have The Full Lobotomy

My co-driver last week has XM radio. After 14 hours of listening to 80's Rock, I asked if he had NPR, so we could get some news. He doesn't get NPR, but cordially switched the dial to FoxNews Radio.

Over the next hour, we listened to repeated, detailed accounts of teachers having sex with students, middle-schoolers having sex in classrooms, sexual predators having sex with children, Anna Nicole Smith having had sex with everyone, and sex having sex with sex and underage sex sex sexual assualt perverted sex sex sex sex sex sex sex ...

All of this wonderful "news" was occassionally punctuauted by a DING!: FauxNews ALERT! warning grimly that men in caves 10,000 miles away, with neither army, navy, nor air force, were right on the frightening EDGE of taking over the United States and installing Osama bin Laden in the White House.

This isn't "news," folks; this is Jerry Springer in a 24-hour format, with a healthy dose of fear thrown in just to keep conservatives sweating and loyal to the "New World Order" (ignorance is strength! war is peace! freedom is slavery!).

Sirius carries NPR, and maybe XM will too pretty soon. Yes, it's deep, detailed, and analytical. If you're smart enough to run a computer (and pass a CDL), you can handle it. Yes, you'll hear points of view that are different from your own (although you'll hear your own, as well). Do you really learn anything by litsening to own point of view 24/7?

You're on the road many, many hours. Give NPR a shot. The world's a big place. There's more to it than GOP talking points, Bill O'Reilly's opinion, fear, and sex.

i think you would probably have to listen to them all to get the "real" news every channel seems to have a different take according to political affiliation. sooo listen to them all then use that old noggin to put the REAL story together between all the half truths and opinions

This isn't "news," folks...
Oh, really? I would agree with you that it is not news. But on the other hand, you would never exaggerate, either, would you? Seeing your neo-Leftist leanings, I would say chances are high that the first paragraph quoted may be a bit over the top and not very accurate. VERY high...
