Politics Do Not Pass/Pass With Care. Today's truckers are far more educated and cognizant of the issues regarding politics due to the sharp increase in talk radio, and various trucking news media sources. Talk politics. Do truckers like politicians?

We had it wrong all along. The French don't hate us ... they hate themselves!

According to an opinion poll published Friday, the French dislike themselves even more than Americans dislike them, Reuters reported.

The survey of six nations, carried out for the International Herald Tribune daily and France 24 TV station, said 44 percent of French people thought badly of themselves against 38 percent of U.S. respondents who had a negative view of the French.

Only 14 percent of Germans, 25 percent of Italians, 29 percent of Spaniards and 33 percent of Britons had a negative view of the French, according to the Harris/Novatris poll, which questioned more than 1,000 people in each country.

Another Rueters useless poll, lol. This is the type of thing DIMS would and set all their views and points around, it's a POLL. lol

Personally I find it humerous, but worhtless. lol

First Cav I disagree that it is worthless. Democrats like to tell
us that France is this wonderfull Utopia where you have socialized
medicine and once you get a job they cannot fire you. This is the
result of that. I remember when they exported Renaults to this
country, about the only car that was more poorly made was a
Yugo. My father's girlfriend had a Renault, she hated it so much
she would leave the keys in the ignition and the window down
wherever she left it. She was mildly suprised when it was stolen
and the car thieves got 2 states away befor it blew the engine.
They did her a favor. The insurance money was enough for a
downpayment on a Toyota. She learned a valuable lesson about
socialism that hopefully most Libs will never learn by successfully
ruining this country by copying France.

A very good point, indeed.

Of course they hate themselves--that's the foundation of socialism. You must value others above yourself. The needs of The Collective are important, yours are not. You have no right to strive for more than you've got until everyone has the same things. And if you find it impossible to attain this ridiculous, self-destructive mindset, then you're obviously defective, anti-social and selfish.

Is anyone surprised that BMW's--once the best-built motorcycles on Earth--are now eating their alternators, dropping their rear ends and generally falling apart? Is it so amazing that the French can't build a car to save their lives? Is it so hard to figure out why the crime rate in Britain is skyrocketing?

Lay it at the feet of socialism, folks--otherwise known as "Communism Lite." One-third the benefits of regular communism with all the destruction.

I'm not disagreeing with your post, I agree with the premise of socialism being "Communism Lite", but I thought BMWs were of German manufacture, Renault and Citreon are the two French auto makers I can name. Not motorcycles, either.

Germany is a good example of socialism also. Mercedes was
once one of the best made cars in the world. Now Consumer
Reports rates it as one of the least reliable. Gemany has
unions that are kinda like France. I think its a good analagy.

The Germans like to blame Mercedes problems on Chrysler (the DaimlerChrysler debacle) however Mercedes was having problems long before the merger.

Some VW fanatics like to think their German built VW's are superior to the Mexican built ones, despite the fact that both are built out of the same parts and built by non-Germans! (Mexicans in Mexico and Poles/Czechs/Romanians in Germany).
