Politics Do Not Pass/Pass With Care. Today's truckers are far more educated and cognizant of the issues regarding politics due to the sharp increase in talk radio, and various trucking news media sources. Talk politics. Do truckers like politicians?

Senate Dems to Force 'No-Confidence' Vote on Attorney General

WASHINGTON — Majority Democrats in the Senate are forcing their Republican colleagues on the record about whether embattled Attorney General Alberto Gonzales should keep his job.

No one is predicting that a symbolic resolution expressing no confidence in Gonzales will survive even the test vote Monday. Most Republcians are likely to vote no, dismissing the whole exercise as a ploy to embarrass President Bush.

At a news conference in Sofia, Bulgaria, the last stop on a weeklong visit to Europe, the president reaffirmed his support for Gonzales, a longtime friend and legal adviser.

"They can have their votes of no-confidence but it's not going to make the determination about who serves in my government," Bush said Monday. "This process has been drug out a long time. ... It's political."

I agree with Bush, this no-confidence vote means nothing, except to the hardcore liberals that hate Bush and his administration. There is nothing binding to this vote, it's another waste of time vote the Democrats the are becomming experts at. Does anyone have a count on how many non-binding votes the DEMS have provided on all these issues so far?

Here's what I think about Gonzales and this attorney firings.

1. Firing 8 attorney's in the Justice department is no more political then firing all 198+ attorney's. The dems argument is that firing 8 is unprecedented and all political. lol 1. Bush kept them to give them an opportunity to do their jobs, they failed. So Gonzales fired them. SO WHAT??? You mean to to tell me that firing all 198 in your first 3 months of office isn't political? LOL. That's just stupid.

2. There was nothing, NOTHING illegal done, even if it was totally based on politics. The President and Attorney General has every right to hire and fire who they want in the Justice Department. CONGRESS has no control over the internal issues in the Justice Department. NONE!!!!

3. This is all wasted time and retribution politics, and it's going to eat the Democrats a live. They lost a few cronies in the justice department. Their motivation in this matter is clear. But the AMerican people are getting tired of the constent hate mongering the dems are doing. They need to stand up for an issue that is going to help the American people, not further divide political sides. They are screwing up, as I predicted. People are simply tired of this negative finger pointing coming from the DIMS.

4. As the trial of Libby proved, it's best when dealing with the DEMS to invoke your 5th Amendment rights. Don't say a thing that they might use against you. If they have a case, let them make it, don't allow them to twist your facts around for their gain. Gonzales did the right thing by not recalling issues in this matter. It's a witch hunt and the best way to deal with a witch hunt is to make it as hard as possible on these idiots.

They'll get that in 2008, lol.

Honestly, if they want to stay in power they need to get off this anti-Bush thing. That will get them so far. They need to provide legislation that isn't just about their pet projects, like homosexuality and amnesty for illegals. They need to do something that all Americans will see as good for every AMERICAN.

I didn't agree with the minimum wage hike, simply because I don't see how 7.25 is going to get anyone out of poverty, but at least they were on the right track. They have gotten tangled up in their lopsided solicalist world, so everything is about gays and illegals, and of course anti-dubya.

I was hoping that once they took power in congress that
they would feel empowered to actually do something.
Instead its more of the same, except now instead of
just whining and crying to the press about Bush they
whine and cry in the form of worthless votes and
non binding resolutions. Good. A lot of the Repubs
that were thrown out were worthless, now in the
next election we can throw out some worthless
Dems also. We need a new congress with the
attitude of the ones that took over in 94.

I guess they could do as repubs did on Clinton. Repubs couldn't make anything stick so they hired a private Prosecuter named Ken Starr and paid for him. They had Clinton slamming on the mind for 8 straight yrs..still do.

Rightly so too. Clinton was a con artist, was a crook. You can love Clinton, you can hate Clinton, but you can never deny that he was the most corrupt President we have had in office since Nixon. The Republicans have Nixon, The DIMS got Clinton.

The DEMS are running around making sound bites, hoping somthing will stick, but there's nothing to stick. If there was, they would do more than this non-binding resolutions and votes thing they do. If they have something they need to get busy and do it. It's for thier own good. They're wasting their time and the American peoples time with this, and it will cost them in 2008.
