Iran has signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. India, Pakistan, and Israel have not, yet all three of them receive US aid and the US looks the other way.

Iran has admitted IAE inspectors. Israel is notorious for denying access to its nuclear facilities, especially Dimona. Pakistan and India, I'm not sure on.

India and Pakistan have detonated nuclear "devices." Israel is alleged to have detonated a device with S. African assistance. Israel is said to possess at a minimum 200 bombs, and can deliver them with subs, missiles, artillery, and aircraft. India and Pakistan have had military skirmishes in the last decade over disputed territory.

The CIA has estimated that at-best, Iran might have enough nuclear weapons grade fuel in 10 years.

Iran has every right as a signatory to the NPT to pursue peaceful uranium enrichment for its civilian power needs.


Besides, why are the Republicans really so eager to invade/attack Iran?

Iran is just a bit of noise in the Middle East.

If they were to become, even close to, a nuclear threat, Israel can (also would) take them back to the sixteenth century, where they belong. There would be the obligatory fifteen minute press briefing at the White House condemning Israel's actions, and that would be the extent of our involvement.

I believe all parties want to honor the sovereignty of these Islamofacist countries, but will not allow them to harbor more terrorist than can be easily killed, or, dictate how Middle East politics are played out.
