Left Attack on Petraeus Poses Problem for Democrats

Left Attack on Petraeus Poses Problem for Democrats

Wednesday, September 12, 2007

By Susan Estrich

LOS ANGELES —

The Democrats, especially the Democrats running for president, have a problem, and his name is Petraeus.

In two days of hearings on Capitol Hill, he probably didn’t change any of the views held by members of Congress about the war in Iraq. But he almost certainly impressed a lot of people sitting at home by displaying all the traits Americans hope for in a military leader.

He was, to put it simply, good, a man who came across as brave, honorable, and true, and that’s the problem.

EDITORS NOTE: I am getting sick & tired of the Liberals saying 'we support our troops,' and then sandbagging the Military at every turn!! Ret. General Tommy Franks was on H & C 2nite and slammed those ppl---he just finished riding around the country on his motorcycle and the msg he heard from America during that run was that ppl are also sick & tired of politicizing the War in Iraq!!

So he is doing the job the President asked him to do, try and fix Iraq, but its not gonna happen anytime soon, if ever.

He did fix Iraq..he fixed numbers to make the war look as if its going better then it is. Betrayus couldnt account for almost 200,000 weapons..not a good thing yet he's moved to a higher position...figures

Weapons? THAT'S the issue you are going to run with here?
Weak, extremely weak, even for a liberal.

you miss the point. 200,000 weapons now in the hands of the enemy cause Betrayus was incompetent is important. This Gen is hardly a quality leader...but then neither is Bush...no wonder they get alone smashingly.

The articles states the weapons were missing in 2004 and 2005. Petreaus was not in charge then.

That's absolutely correct, and furthermore that was a problem that trailed back to this side of the pond. The tracking got lost here with our "inventory" people first, then went down hill from there.
