Truckers' Trucking Forum/Message Board - The Premiere Truck Driver Forum

Politics Do Not Pass/Pass With Care. Today's truckers are far more educated and cognizant of the issues regarding politics due to the sharp increase in talk radio, and various trucking news media sources. Talk politics. Do truckers like politicians?

Silly people should realize that the Unemployment Rate ALWAYS goes up during the winter. There are many places that it is just too damn cold during the winter to work outside, and lawns don't need much maintenance between November and March. MOST all industries slow down between December and February.
Plus, try this sometime: Get up on a ice or snow covered roof and try to lay felt paper or shingles

Thats true, but:

"driving the nation’s unemployment rate up to a two-year high of 5 percent and fanning fears of a recession"

Two years isn't much. But, I don't see the job's increasing that much. Except for farm workers. Alot of jobs are still going over seas.
Freight always slows down this time of year. And usually are back up and running by march. I Hope it will this year as well.
A friend of mine just bought a new Pete, Good or bad decision, he still bought it. Luckily, he singed on with a company that hauls food. We still have to eat, and there are still food producers left in America.
But, more and more food is being imported.
