CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez moved tanks to the Colombian border and mobilized fighter jets on Sunday, warning Bogota could spark a war after its troops struck inside another of its neighbors, Ecuador.

Reacting to Colombia's killing on Saturday of a Colombian rebel over the border in Ecuador, a Venezuelan ally, Chavez also withdrew all of his diplomats from Bogota in the worst dispute between the neighbors since he came to office in 1999.

"Mr. Defense Minister, move me 10 battalions to the frontier with Colombia immediately, tank battalions. The air force should mobilize," Chavez said, adding he will bolster his military's presence along the 1,400-mile (2,200-km) border.

Yea, WTF? Oh, Lord, that is ALL we need is to be stuck in a war in Colombia! Iran would LOVE it as it would take our eyes off of them though for SURE then!

There is no way we can. First off, there would HAVE to be a draft to force those who wouldn't serve their country to do so...that would not be popular with today's spoiled-brat American kids! Chavez COULD use this as an excuse to get a war started and drag us in to help take the heat off Iran. Sheesh, what a darn mess this world is in!

IF Chavez does attack Colombia it would open up the second front in World War III (compare Japan to Germany). And, yes, I do think Bush would send what troops we have left to help even though we are stretched as it is. Either that or he would send our Air Force to pound Venezuela. THEN, if it does happen, Iran might declare war on the US and it starts to explode then...that's what I see. Let's HOPE Chavez isn't THAT stupid!

Nope, but we have enough missiles to Nuke the world.

I didn't read that particular article, I had just finished reading 3 others that provided a bit more depth.

Seems they grabbed a lap-top with evidence that the nutjob from Venezuela gave these guys about $300 million, and they were trying to buy Uranium.

Musta been for that HUGE #$$ Nuclear powered processing plant they were building for the coke.

Yea, that's what they are saying... Chavez Helps Rebels With $300 Million? So, I guess he is pissed. Problems is, they did that in Ecuador, NOT Venezuela, so WHY would Chavez do what he is doing then? Does he think he is some type of "Messiah" for Ecuador? Is he that nuts?
