Dean urges do-over voting in Fla., Mich.

Dean urges do-over voting in Fla., Mich.
3/6/08
Quote:
WASHINGTON - Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean urged Florida and Michigan party officials to come up with plans to repeat their presidential nominating contests so that their delegates can be counted.

"All they have to do is come before us with rules that fit into what they agreed to a year and a half ago, and then they'll be seated," Dean said during a round of interviews Thursday on network and cable TV news programs.

The two state parties will have to find the funds to pay for new contests without help from the national party, Dean said.
"We can't afford to do that. That's not our problem. We need our money to win the presidential race," he said.
Officials in Michigan and Florida are showing renewed interest in holding repeat presidential nominating contests so that their votes will count in the epic Democratic campaign.

Politics

Cybergal, I think people are just watching the fight between Hillary and Obama. Both doing doing whatever they can to be the nomenie. Meanwhile the Republicans are all together backing up Macain. while democrats arguing if they count delegates in Fl and MI, Republicans are working on their strategics for November.

Sure....
It was DEAN's decision to punish Michigan and Florida for holding their primaries before the Iowa Caucus and NH Primary, now it seems since his darling Hillary Rodham Clinton hasn't got a firefly in the Alps chance of winning, he wants to change the rules.
Has anyone figured out yet, that the Democrats change the rules when they don't like the original outcome?

changing rules

I watched the "State of the Black Union 2008" on CSpan last Friday night, (Probably abailable on Youtube), and Tavis Smiley was already gearing them up on the possiblity of the rules changing. Expect all heck to break out if they even try that.

I smell bull ##### with this whole thing.
While Dean did punish FL & MI for voting early he had little choice.
the Republicans voted to push up the dates then hardly punish the states that violated the rules. the Republicans choose to vote early not the Democrats! I agree a do over should be held.

WHAT????
Do you think that Michigan has a majority of REPUBLICANS in their State House??
It MIGHT have been "voted" on by the Republicans in Michigan, but it was ALSO voted on (and PASSED) by DEMOCRATS.
How about a little intellectual honesty?
