Truckers' Trucking Forum/Message Board - The Premiere Truck Driver Forum

Politics Do Not Pass/Pass With Care. Today's truckers are far more educated and cognizant of the issues regarding politics due to the sharp increase in talk radio, and various trucking news media sources. Talk politics. Do truckers like politicians?

What responsibility does the Government have to help anyone?

The government has helped the farmers.
The government has saved the savings & loans when mismanaged.
The government has saved and helped Chrysler.

Need we continue?

None, its time to let the irresponsible financial institutions fail, instead of bailing them out.

If this is a bailout, why is Bear Stearns ceasing to exist? Who exactly is getting bailed out?

NO, we need not continue.

There is no Constitutional Provision for ANY "bail-out".

You are a true American, RK. Just wanted to say thank YOU....... Because of you and people of your impecable integrity and self sufficency, I can rest assured that my children (if need be) will be able to rely on the social security system in their later years, to provide some small semblance of a life, without them having to dig through garbage cans and the like........Just for security sake, please use a paper shredder on that goverment check...Would not want that rascal to fall into less responsible hands......

Judging from your post history (an American history student, I am not) must have been a bunch of liberals in power, at those times.......

What "Government Check" are you talking about?
I don't get any "free" money from the Government, just an occasional refund when the thieves take too much, or I find a way to get more of it back.
If a democrat is elected, with what THEY propose you can expect the total collapse of Medicare and SS about 2019.....or sooner. So your kiddies won't have to worry about their SS retirement, it will be gone LONG before they are ready to retire.
Now to answer your sarcasm with a bit of logic....me alone refusing to take "free" money isn't going to matter one little bit when the $15T Asteroid hits.
