| Highway watch, see it report it, and my experience in the "brave new world". I posted pictures I took while loading artwork at the Chicago Merchandise Mart. I had a small experience while taking those pictures that I decided to share and see if others have noticed anything similar etc. Let me set the scene for you, the loading docks of the Merchandise mart are below the street next to the river and below a bridge ramp in down town Chicago. The multi story building houses a group of very upscale shops, some financial offices, and it hosts some industrial trade expositions. It is doubtful if it is a terrorism target on it's own. I was walking around shooting pictures using my cell phone, so I could email them out to my email account and then post them here ( they are in a folder under [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. YODA album Chicago Loading at the Merchandise Mart! 4/30 if you care to see them. The interesting experience was after I uploaded the first dozen pictures, ( they uploaded very very slowly) MY cell phone turned itself off and rebooted, then rang with a number purporting to be from my home area code ending in 9999. I answered the phone and no one would reply to me but the connection sounded hollow ( voice printing? comparison?) the the connection was broken. Being inquisitive I immediately redialed that number and was intercepted by a recorded message telling me " I did not have the required security code to access that number" My phone went back to working normally and pictures started uploading at normal speed. Do you suppose I tripped some security trigger involving reconnaissance etc? Maybe we do have a homeland security department that does more than search Grandma at the air port?
