Bush impeachment articles

An Ohio Democratic lawmaker and former presidential candidate has presented articles of impeachment against President George W. Bush to Congress.

Thirty-five articles were presented by Rep. Dennis Kucinich to the House of Representatives late Monday evening, airing live on C-SPAN.
"The House is not in order," said Kucinich to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), upon which Pelosi pounded her gavel.

"Resolved," Kucinich then began, "that President George W. Bush be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors, and that the following articles of impeachment be exhibited to the United States Senate. ...

"In his conduct while President of the United States, George W. Bush, in violation of his constitutional oath to faithfully execute the office of president of the United States, and to the best of his ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has committed the following abuses of power...

"The first article Kucinich presented, and many that followed, regarded the war in Iraq: "Article 1 - Creating a secret propaganda campaign to manufacture a false case for war against Iraq."

Don't forget; Dennis "cuckoo" Kucinich conversed with space aliens from the rear deck of Shirley MacLaine's mountain-top cabin. I suspect there was some hallucinogenic drugs involved.

I have observed both sides, power is a drug to many of these people.

I find it hard to believe that any thinking person would even consider anything submitted by Dennis Kucinich worth posting. The guy is a total nut. Nice guy, but he would be laughed at even in countries like Denmark, Sweden, etc. Even Soros wouldn't back him.

no a simple resolution or accusation is not proof. but it was not meant to be on it's own. With the supporting documents, it is proof.

has anyone bothered to look at the articles and documents cited in his report, or even begin reading it before disregarding it because he's crazy? He gave many cited examples of proof in news articles, white house documents, and more. It is not simply an accusation. It is a 35-count resolution backed up by facts.

Sure kucinich is crazy, and as much as I'm not republican-I'm not Dem either, the point being I watched the presentation live on c-span all last night, and he gave many cited proofs of bush deliberately manipulating the congress and the american people.

please, at least take a look at the presented facts before dismissing it because it was from Kucinich-that doesn't mean everything he says is false.

This is true, it is also true that a stopped clock is correct twice a day, and that someone traveling in circles will be going the right direction once per revolution

The fact is that Bush and Cheney will be gone in just over 7 months, and if anyone had anything that would stick, they would be gone now. I'm not sure anyone would like the Speaker of the House assuming the Presidency, but I'm guessing it would have happened in this case. It has been said that Cheney had to be impeached at the same time or before Bush, lest we get him as President. The House has to send the indictment to the Senate, and the Senate gets to decide, does anyone but me see that this is an attempt to sway the election in November. Denny has to help his party.

It's up to the House now as to what is done with it. I expect some action to insure a Democratic sweep this November, but I am wrong a lot.

no argument there, I think doing this now is ignorant and pointless. Nothing good can come of it. Agreed 100%.

But... That doesn't mean he's not right! That's all. Bush WILL NOT get impeached, but that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve it. And i truly think whether there is anything that would stick or not, Bush would not get impeached either way.

The fact of the matter is that there must be a huge over riding reason to impeach a president. I remember both the watergate crisis and the impeachment of Clinton. The impeachment of a president hurts America. All of America. The nation is paralized while the trial is going on. The symbolic head of state is dragged through the mud to the point where Americans lose faith with their government and system. Even if Bush and Cheny did break the law their time in power is just about up. I really don't think that they are a threat to the republic in the time that is remaining. So what would be the purpose of impeachment knowing the pain and sorrow to the country that it brings along with it? Revenge? Partasanship of the very worst sort? I truly believe that there is no noble or good motive behind it.
