The disgrace known as Delahunt (D)

Here is the exchange between Rep. William Delahunt (D, Mass.) and Cheney chief of staff David Addington at the House committee hearing broadcast live on C-SPAN on Thursday as accurately [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. :
Delahunt asked repeatedly whether the topic of waterboarding, a controversial interrogation technique that simulates drowning, ever came up. Addington replied that he could not discuss that because "al Qaeda may watch C-SPAN."
"Right," Delahunt responded. "Well, I'm sure they are watching, and I'm glad they finally have the chance to see you, Mr. Addington."
"Yeah, I'm sure you're pleased," Addington shot back.
"Given your penchant for being unobtrusive," Delahunt said of Addington's ability to stay behind the scenes.
In this exchange, Delahunt identifies himself with a vicious enemy of the United States, implicitly acknowledges the danger they pose to officials such as Addington and professes his satisfaction that he has helped set the enemy's sights on Addington. Delahunt is both a fool and a reprobate. He does not understand that his good will toward al Qaeda means nothing to them, and his encouragement of their mission is simply vile.

snip

If you do not call your Congressman today and demand the House of Representatives, at the very *least*, censure Congressman Delahunt, well damn us all. We have no right to carry on our fight. The number is 202-224-3121 and Congressman Delahunt's email address is [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. . [Congressman Delahunt can be reached at 202-225-3111 and by fax at 202-225-5658.]

This is purely outrageous! These vitriol driven partisan dirtbags are a disgrace to congress. This man is a pathetic little bully, and should have to very publicly apologize.

I don't see it that way either.

However, if Mr. Addington is proud of the torture, then he should not be ashamed to be on tv. It identifies him as the same as that happened to the spy last year. Let the chips fall.

Maybe I should be clearer and said waterboarding. There were many posts over the last year discussing it as torture. Sorry for that.

Waterboarding is a form of torture that consists of immobilizing a person on their back with the head inclined downward—known as the Trendelenburg position—and pouring water over the face and into the breathing passages.[LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. [2] Through forced suffocation and inhalation of water, the subject experiences the process of drowning and is made to believe that death is imminent.

Well, I think as true torture goes, waterboarding is among the slightest of the definition, possibly being so by mere definition rather than actual practice. After all, our own soldiers go through this in SERE school, are we "torturing" them as well?

But that raises yet a couple of questions if you would be so kind....

1. Just how would you propose that we find out vital intel that these persons posses?

2. How many has the US waterboarded? do you know?

Hint: I do.....

1. It is not my business. It is what the government does.
2. I have no interest, or do I care.

All I commented on was the previous.
