| The video below highlights the differences between those two dates. As you can see, ice has grown in nearly every direction since last summer - with a large increase in the area north of Siberia. Also note that the area around the Northwest Passage (west of Greenland) has seen a significant increase in ice. Some of the islands in the Canadian Archipelago are surrounded by more ice than they were during the summer of 1980. [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. The 30 per cent increase was calculated by counting pixels which contain colors representing ice. This is a conservative calculation, because of the map projection used. As the ice expands away from the pole, each new pixel represents a larger area - so the net effect is that the calculated 30 per cent increase is actually on the low side. | The lib mentality, you gotta love it. Nature definitely is not liberal...the ice just fails to cooperate with the lib agenda. What about the lib/enviro-whackos who tried to convert the big cats like lions and tigers to a vegan lifestyle...now that's rich.

| The thing is, we have only been keeping records for how long, while mother nature has been at this for billions of years. We have just begun to figure out mother nature's cycles. They can guess based on information they gather from fossils, rocks, etc, but that's all it is - a guess. Yes, we need to change the way we do some things, but we need to be logical and practical about it. Wait, logical and practical don't mix with business or government. I guess that blows that thought out of the water!

| The Al Gores of the Liberal Dem Party are well aware that this is BS. But they will use it for their own Evil power grab. No matter how the people suffer or the cost or even how it helps the Enemies of the World they will use it. They so far have not allowed any honest debate on the subject but spend untold amounts of our money (taxes ) on this Myth.

| What people forget is that it's not the rainforests, but the fudging ocean is the biggest carbon dioxide trap on this planet. Saving the rainforest is still cool, but as long as the algae and seaweed are there, there shouldn't be any shortage of stuff to soak up CO2. |
