I never really considered myself affiliated with any party. In fact in the past I tended to lean towards the Democrats. But man am I getting sick of these Roger Wicker commercial battles. When the ones for Wicker air, they always show the positive things about him. "Roger Wicker. Family man. Married 32 years." When the ones against him air, they're not about his opponent, whoever that may be. They always go something like this. "Oil speculators are ripping off Americans, but Roger Wicker didn't stop them. Oil companies are making billions in profits. They paid him $200,000. He gave them tax breaks." Or there's one about health care and insurance. They all have this "Oooh scary" attitude. Is this all the Democrats know how to do or is it just the locals?

It is funny you say this, I have spoke to several people lately who are completely discusted with the Democrats, including me, and I have always been a die hard Democrat myself, but I am now reconsidering!!!!!

You know, since the whole negative campaign commercials started, I just was nauseous. Why are we so complacent to listen to this dribble. We somehow need to send them all a message that we don't want to listen to them bashing each other, we want to know what they stand for and why.

I do not pay attention to any of it, and I am sure there are alot who dont, who cares what they did 20 years ago, it is all irrelevant , and has no bearing !! All that matters is what are they going to do for the country now and the mess where in if they are elected???

negative campaigns..umm shouldn't we be told the negatives about a candidate? To think they only have positive traits is foolish.

It's not that people only want to hear the positive, but it is how politicians go about their messages that is so irritating. They lift one line out of a speech, use it out of context, and then put it in their ads against their opponents to try to scare people, half of which are too lazy or ignorant to investigate the claims themselves to learn the truth. I've heard so many claims on political ads about people I supported that made me stop and go "WHAT?" but once I investigated the actions they took or what they said, what was being used against them was totally understandable and explainable. To me, telling half a truth when you know the other half explains the first half and makes the meaning different is the same thing as an outright lie, but that is the way politicians campaign every day, and it is nauseating.

If I tell you the car I'm selling you has a new paint job, that might be true, but would you not feel I am lying and taking advantage of you if I don't tell you the other half of that truth - that it has new paint because it was recently in a wreck? It comes down to if you believe telling half the truth is being honest. I don't believe it is, thus they are all liars when they use their campaign tactics. I personally don't know how they sleep at night.

The good news is I think most of America has caught on to this. And to be honest the only people these types of commericals are movtiving are the people that's already against the person being attacked.

People who are normally undecided are turned off by these types of ads.
